Boulders beach is an idilic beach located close to Simons Town heading towards
Cape Point. This unique beach is perhaps more popular due to its inhabitants, a colony of some 3000 African Jackass penguins, it is sais a pair of the penguins first settled in 1982 and the colony has steadily grown ever since.
In order to get the best view of the penguins head to Foxy Bay from the car park area. There you can take a walk along the board walk and view the birds as they as bask in the sun or take a dip in their sheltered bay.
The beach is surrounded by large granite boulders and is supplied with fresh water from a series of inlets which helps to keep the waters calm and warm in the summer making it a great place to swim.
Boulders beach can be found about 1.5km outside of Simons Town, once you see Seaforth Road turn in and make your way to the parking area.
