The Ostrich farm close to
Cape Point was originally founded in 1996 and is run by Angelika and Dr. Ernst Coelle. Some of the buildings dated back to the begining of the 19th century and are built in the beautiful Cape Dutch style.
There are up to 40 breeding pairs of Ostrichs that are cared for at the breeding farm each pair living in their own individual large open pen. During the breeding season it is likely that you will witness hatchings taking place during your visit, it is always best to call ahead to be sure though.
The farm has plenty to do and see including guided tours, tea garden, beer garden, leather shop and the egg shop to name but a few.
