Cape Town is home to a world class cricket ground, Sahara Park in Newlands (if you ask some one in Cape Town where Sahara park is located you might get a blank look - everyone continues to call it by its original and non sponsored name "Newlands"), which has a maximum capacity of 25,000.

The Cape Cobras, who were founded in 2003, are the home team based at Newlands and take part in the SuperSport Series and the MTN domestic Championship and Standard Bank Twenty20 limited over competitions. The stadium is also host to many international matches ranging from one day internationals to the new and exciting Twenty20 cricket world cup.

The ground has been regarded as one of the most beautiful grounds in the world, located in the lavish suburb of Newlands with excellent views of Devils Peak and the slopes of Table Mountain, it is located fairly central and is easy to get to on match day, the only small down fall is the lack of decent parking with the only spaces being in un-official parking areas or on the road side.
