The Mount Nelson opened on the 6th of March 1899 and is now regarded as the most luxurious hotel in Cape Town with stunning gardens and beautiful rooms. The hotel is owned by the Orient-Express Hotels, Trains & Cruises company.



The Mount Nelson put on one of the most widely loved afternoon teas and has been reviewed and loved by some of the best food critics from around the world.

A first class spread of savoury foods such as smoked salmon sandwichs, chilli bites (not to strong), savoury scones to mention a few. The cake section is a site to behold, over 10 different sizes and types of cup cakes, mulva pudding, 4 or 5 chocolate cakes, fruit salad and another large selection of small bite size cakes.



Afternoon tea would not be complete without 'tea' - the selection on offer is vast and there is something for every taste.
