It seems that Cape Town has been over looked as a venue for a base camp as none of the 32 teams attending this years World Cup has choosen the mother city.
Laurine Platsky, the provincial 2010 Coordinator, says this is mainly due to Cape Town being at sea level and not providing the right training conditions.
Another large factor is the location and the extended travel requirements as Cape Town is located in the most south westerly tip of South Africa.
