Constantia is regarded as the oldest wine growing region in South Africa, with its heritage going back as far as 1685 and the wine farm of Groot Constantia.
Constantia itself is a beautiful leafy suburb with many of Cape Towns most impressive and expensive homes. Though limited there are two small but exclusive shopping malls - one being Constantia village where a few exclusive shops can be found along with a hair dressers and a large Pick 'N' Pay hyper market.
Another lovely but small shopping area can be found at high constantia - a grand total of 10 shops await you from small galleries to home decor. There are three restaurants in this small area,
Greens,
Whang Thai and Pastisse - all three offering something different and tastey.
