Simons Town is a small picturesque town located on the shores of False Bay, it is also home to a South African naval dockyard where many ships are typically in dock.
Simons Town has many small shops along the main road from small clothing shops to galleries and gift shops, these can give it a feel of an old English seaside village, the English heritage can clearly be seen in some of the building and their names.
Close to the harbour there are several small restaurants that offer excellent food, one is Berthas which sits right at the waters edge. Close to Berthas there is an African market where figures, ornamnets and paintings can be purchased. Be sure to haggle on price!
A walk down to the harbour can secure trips out to seal island, a trip around the harbour, fishing trips and even great white shark diving trips out into False Bay.
